System Requirements#

Documented Reference Configuration#

The physical-robot tutorial uses a Flexiv Rizon 4s with a Grav gripper and Jetson AGX Thor. Its perception configuration uses one RealSense D455 camera with FoundationPose and Segment Anything (SAM). The manual-pose path uses measured poses instead. Refer to the DisplayPort workflow for the configuration and prerequisites.

Isaac ROS supports additional platforms for its core packages. Those platforms are not automatically supported for an Isaac for Manipulation workflow. The dependency setup pages describe reusable procedures, not the product’s supported hardware, operating systems, ROS distributions, or isolation modes.

The 2026.09 release supports x86_64 for model preparation and simulation, and aarch64.Thor for the documented physical-robot deployment. The workflow requirements below further constrain the supported configuration for each use case. Isaac ROS support for other platforms does not extend this product matrix.

Model Preparation Host#

The shared x86 workspace and developer environment setup targets Ubuntu 24.04 (Noble) for its host-side package installation steps, including the Isaac ROS CLI. Check the host OS before adding its apt repository, even when choosing Docker for the development environment.

The perception model preparation instructions require an x86 machine to convert SAM weights to ONNX. Copy the resulting models to the Jetson device as described there. This preparation requirement does not establish x86 support for physical-robot deployment.

Simulation Workstation#

The simulation setup requires a workstation with at least 25 GB GPU VRAM and 30 GB CPU RAM to run Isaac Sim. The shared x86 environment setup above applies to this workstation too. Also review the simulator’s version-specific requirements linked from that workflow. The supported simulator version for this release is Isaac Sim 6.0.

Continue to Set Up the Workspace and Developer Environment, then choose Set Up a Simulated Robot or Set Up a Physical Robot.
