LIDAR Setup
The following is a table of the LIDARs supported by Nova and their requirements:
Lidar |
Type |
PTP |
---|---|---|
3D |
X |
|
2D |
The Jetson AGX Orin supports PTP by default on its onboard Ethernet. All LIDARs must be connected to the onboard Ethernet because of this. Nova Orin Init assumes that LIDARs are connected to the onboard Ethernet when configuring them.
Hawk/Owl and GMSL Setup
The Nova Orin kit supports up to four Hawk stereo cameras and four Owl monocular cameras. These cameras are connected to the Orin via a GMSL board.
Connecting Cameras
Nova Orin Kit only supports P3762_A03 GMSL boards, older revisions (P3762_A01, P3762_A02) and e3653 boards are not currently supported. Your GMSL board must have two inputs that accept up to four cameras each and a 12v power input.
Note
The map of connector positions to channel number is looking into the male connector, not the female connector. The cameras must be plugged in increasing order (according to the channel number). Not following this order will result in no cameras found.
It’s important to note that the 12V power input is required for proper functioning of cameras. When connecting cameras, it is important to attach the cameras in order. For example, if you have only two Hawks, you must connect them to channel 0 and 1 (blue and white), or probing does not work. The same applies to Owls. As you connect your cameras, take note of the location on your system where the camera is placed. If you are using Nova Carter or related software the assumed order is “front back left right” for both Hawk and Owl cameras.
